Jonas Øglænd opened the first general store in Krossen in 1868. In the early years, the product range was like a traditional general store. Gradually, he specialized in the selection. Around the turn of the century, bicycles became part of the assortment. In the following years, the company grew and they established both a bicycle factory and then a clothing factory. Over time, both factories became the largest of their kind in the country. The company grew into a large group and became a cornerstone company in Sandnes. The product groups that Jonas specialized in at the time; manufacturing, colonial, power feed/fertilizer and bicycles, followed the company until the last years.
